Description
Shigaraki-waretokkuri;earthenware; pinched form fits thumb and fingers for proper pour from inclined neck (see tokkuri 14TXDD003). One’s hand feels the smooth grit of small stones in the clay that expanded during the firing and protruded through the surface of the brown, gray, and dark oyster-colored glaze. 3-7/8″ diameter. 4-1/2″ high. late Edo or early Meiji period.
